The Oil and Gas Industry Development Council was established in December 2016 to create a long-term vision for the province’s oil and gas industry, with a focus on promoting development, competitiveness and sustainability to position the province globally as a preferred location for oil and gas development.

In February 2018, Government released the outcome of the Council’s work, Advance 2030 – A Plan for Growth in the Newfoundland and Labrador Oil and Gas Industry.
